Meeting called to order: 7:55 AM by Chairperson Rita Brisbin

The minutes were approved. With a change in the spelling of Cyndy Fuller’s name

Treasurer’s report: Checking Ending balance $617.20. Savings $6416.8. We have a bill from the Manistee Chamber of Commerce for $172.50 the consensus was to continue our membership. Don Brisbin will have a total for Sparkle donations and the total spent for the Pavilion next month.

Old Business: 

1. Sparkle in the Park
We took in $169 more than last year, our total donations were $1,230.83 in the vault. We had very good attendance. We had some vandalism and the two boys will be dealt with at the school. We need to encourage the local businesses to do more holiday decorating in town. This Thursday will be a worker bee to take things down in Hopkins Park. Everyone is Welcome!!

2. Soldier Boxes We are getting a few things in. Pauline received a Shadow box with a flag and a certificate from one of our soldiers. The flag was flown at the base in Afghanistan. We are planning on displaying it possibly at the school and the library.

3. Bear Lake After Hours We will hold Bear Lake After Hours at the Bear Lake Bear on Thursday, April 19, 2012. 5-7 pm. We will do the food ourselves. Please plan on attending.

New Business: 

1. Newsletter Rita Brisbin is planning on putting out a newsletter this month. Please send her any information or articles to include.

2. Bear Lake Days Bear Lake Days is always the second full weekend in July. So it will be July 13,14,15 in 2012

3. Calendar of Events 

  1.  Easter Egg Hunt April 7

  6. Sparkle Opening November 24

New Business Jan Witgen shared information about the new gift shop in her old location. It is called Treasures on the Lake. It is owned by Cyndi Vasilnek. Jan encourage people to go in and welcome Cyndi to Bear Lake. Jan shared that she has moved J.J. Witty’s into the Manor and was open during the holidays with mostly Christmas items. She will reopen the first week of May and will be open Thursday through Saturday all summer. She will have Christmas and one of a kind items for sale.

5. T-Shirt Committee We have two potential new people to chair the committee. We thanked Dixie Hoeh for the work she did on the committee.

6. July The July meeting will be moved to July 11 due to the 4th falling on our regular meeting date.

7. Storage We need to extend a complimentary membership to Tony Merrill for the use of his building for Sparkle storage.
